Little Hampton Uniting Church, nestled in a paddock and seen here in the heart of winter.
Little Hampton Uniting Church is a congregation largely comprised of people from the local farming community, which includes the young and the young at heart. Our worship services are focused on down to earth fellowship, often gathered around the table, as we seek to engage with issues of Christian faith within the reality of our own lives.
Set within the rolling hills of the Central Highlands, this space is the perfect location for Prayers in the Paddock. This was held for the first time in 2007, on the first day of Spring, and created space for people from all kinds of backgrounds to come and offer their prayers and hopes for new beginnings. In 2009 Prayers in the Paddock included an earth liturgy focusing on the earth. Over 80 people took part in this outdoor event; celebrating the earth’s beauty, lamenting its suffering and sharing in prayers for its future care. People from all walks of life joined together for this moving liturgy.
